This #GivingTuesday our main supporters Elewana Collection and Cheli & Peacock once again came out in strength to show their commitment to the communities in which they work. The staff of both the Arusha and Nairobi offices brought in books, clothes and toys to be donated to our Wildlife Warrior Schools.
In addition the staff of the Nairobi office took part in a sponsored “Wear Green” Day, in which they each made a donation towards Land & Life. Much to everyone’s delight, the companies committed to matching all funds donated by their employees. With the support of the staff and of their employers, Elewana Collection and Cheli & Peacock raised a total of approximately $1500 to support Wildlife Warrior Retreat which is being held in December in Nairobi.
Thirty-seven young people will come together for a week of conservation education and exciting experiences. For many of these bright young Kenyans it will be the first time they have visited their capital city. They will feed the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, enjoy nature walks and throwing seedballs, spend time discussing career paths and opportunities with conservation & hospitality professionals, and go for an exciting day’s game drive in Nairobi National Park.
We are so grateful to all the individual staff members who brought in donations, gave cash and made such an effort to support the Warriors. We are also as ever thankful for the continuing support of Elewana and Cheli & Peacock, who go from strength to strength each year in their support for the young students of the Wildlife Warrior Program.
