Esiteti Primary in Amboseli has been the beneficiary of several large scale donations this year which has been a real boon for the community. After a few delays and false starts, our locally-sourced contractors are well underway and we expect the dorm to be completed before the end of 2019.

We will be looking for support to equip this dormitory – it will need 40 bunk beds and assorted bedding and other items. If you are interested in helping, please do click here and make your donation, marked “For Esiteti Dorm”

After a series of generous donations from Elewana Sand River Mara guests, and the ongoing support of the Scopa family, Embiti Primary has been the spot for a flurry of activity recently. The project currently underway is the installation of a rainwater harvesting guttering system and associated water storage tank on site, as well as the plumbing in of the school to the nearby borehole. These two water projects should ensure the school has water going forward for students and staff to cook, clean and wash.

We are also delighted to hear from the Scopa family that they are nearly at their goal, which means we hope to begin construction of a new classroom for Embiti in the New Year. At Ura Gate Primary in Meru near to Elewana Elsa’s Kopje we are planning to sort out their power problems with installation of an effective and reliable solar system. Currently the school suffers from only partial solar power provision, with several classrooms, the administration block, dining hall and teachers accommodation having no power at all. This week sees our qualified and experienced contractor visit the school to make an assessment of the current situation and produce a quote for the required equipment and works.
